I finished The Runaway Jury yesterday, and also read The Water is Wide, by Pat Conroy. It's an autobiographical account of a year that he spent teaching black children on an island off of South Carolina. Very depressing. Sometimes I think humanity has a chance, but I know better.

The fact that this stuff happened while my parents were kids shouldn't surprise me, but it does. Of course, the world is SO perfect now, right?

Bah. And people sometimes wonder why I am a misanthrope.

I listened to the 3 disc DCD set today. It was amazing, as I knew it would be. I was surprised by how much written material is included, and there is a DVD too! Whee! I already have Toward the Within on video, but I am happy nonetheless.
