The Gold Star cinema was awesome. It was not a weekend ticket, so the fee was only $22. In the lobby, you can choose food and drinks from a decent menu. Each theater only seats about 32 people, and the chairs are automatic recliners with tables next to them. We saw Casino Royale at 3:55, so I ordered a chicken sandwich and fries for 4:30, and a huge sundae for 5:00. Waiters bring in the food! My brother Sean ordered a beer to be delivered every thirty minutes. Hehe...
The next day, Mom, Dad, and I took a trip to Featherdale Wildlife Park, about an hour outside of Sydney. We got to pet kangaroos and koalas and echidnas, and feed the animals as well. It was fun.
I flew up to Brisbane the next day, to meet some people I play World of Warcraft with. Oleg (Xeneeth) picked me up from the airport, and we went over to Tobin (Cenninuas) and Mark's (Nakier) house for the evening. Tobin was raiding for most of the evening, while we hung out on the patio. I found two geckos! We went out to KFC for food, and also hit a beverage store. I bought some odd vodka Red Bull drink just to try it.
In the morning, we set out to the Gold Coast to go swimming. It's about an hour drive from Brisbane. I hadn't planned on going swimming on this vacation, so I ended up with sandy shorts and underwear. I also was pleasantly surprised to find out that the beach was topless. I bought some overpriced truffles and some non-sandy shorts and we had Peri-peri chicken for lunch.
For the last two days of my trip, I did not do much. The WoW players were busy, so I spent most of my time reading books and watching movies. To be honest, I was ready to go back home. On my flight back from Sydney to LA, I watched The Departed, Borat, Kenny, Little Miss Sunshine (the best of the bunch), and the Illusionist.
When I finally did get back, I handed out t-shirts and boomerangs to my coworkers and showed off some pictures that my Mom had already got developed. There is one of a baby kangaroo licking me that is adorable. I am playing WoW and Magic Online again, and slowly cleaning up the house. I did get promoted at work, and life is OK for now.
