Well, the computer was an hour fast the last time I posted, so I arrived back at the hotel with plenty of time to spare. The wedding was held outside at Balmoral Beach. It was the only wedding I have been to where drinking was encouraged during the ceremony. The reception was held nearby at a Bathers' Pavilion, and the food was delicious.

The next day was New Year's Eve. Over a million people were at the Harbor for the fireworks at 9pm and at midnight. Geoff and I decided to walk all the way back to the hotel instead of packing into the trains like sardines. Traffic was at a standstill. All the roads were jammed with happy drunk people walking back. It was really quite odd. I missed my turnoff to Hyde Park and ended up many blocks out of my way. By the time I made it back to the hotel around 2, I was exhausted. I spent most of New Year's Day reading, and the only trip I took out was for food and to dump off my laundry.

Yesterday, I was reenergized, so I went out shopping for my coworkers. I arranged for a flight to Brisbane on the 5th, and accomodations at the Abbey Apartments while I am up there. And last night, I watched The Descent at a Hare Krishna theater called Govindas, where everyone lies down on futons and relaxes.

Today, I am dropping off post cards, and then I am off to Bondi Junction to check out a Gold Star cinema. We shall see how it compares.
