hakeswill on music

I heard an amazing version of "Sober" on Echoes the other night. It gave me goosebumps.
The Section - Sober - The String Tribute to Tool

Dave Matthews has put out his best song ever, which isn't saying much. He covered Ani's "Joyful Girl," and WXPN keeps playing it. I am glad that Ani is getting mentioned a lot, but why can't they just play her instead?

Recent CDs to sleep to:
Peter Gabriel's Passion (music from the Last Temptation of Christ)
The Last of the Mohicans soundtrack
Dido's No Angel
Jane Siberry's When I Was a Boy

hakeswill on TV

ER has been great the last few episodes. Living vicariously through these characters makes my life a bit more bearable. Romano had some great lines last week with Elisabeth, after she found out that her husband's brain tumor was back.
"Is he your husband?"
"Do you love him?"
"Then you know what you have to do."

This week's award for best line went to Mark Green, talking with a pain in the ass patient that came in with a *gasp* hangnail.
"I have a brain tumor. It's inoperable. I win."
Then he walked away.

People suck.

hakeswill on books

Recent readings:
Little Boy Blue - by Ed Dee
the book of Luke

I am working my way through Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets. This is the book that inspired one of the best TV shows ever. I like it.

Two of my teams are in the divisionals, or rather two were. Reset was totally screwed in a sham of a game. I was so pissed off. The head commissioner even said he was sorry after watching this travesty.

At least redmeat.com still has a chance.
